Intown – Why All The Cool Kids Are Moving There

If there is anything the millennial generation does consistently, it’s bucking the norm. While previous generations favored the convenience of car-reliant suburbs over urban living, we’re seeing more and more millennials flock to the lifestyle afforded by walkable city centers. But, it’s not just millennials moving intown, the trend has begun radiating out to older generations, too, especially as boomers consider a change in lifestyle to go along with their downsized homes. But, what’s attracting these demographics intown? The number one answer to that would be the lifestyle, for Boomers and Millennials alike.

 

When seeking out an intown home, younger buyers are looking for a starter home that is both affordable and close enough to a city center to allow for the active live-work-play lifestyle they crave. This may be a departure from the ‘retirement living’ norm of the past, but boomers are looking for more flexibility and fun in the next phase of their lives than previous generations.
