A Perfect Day In Atlanta – Your Guide to Atlanta Living
So you want to live in Atlanta. Of course you’ll need to buy a home to get up close and personal access to all the bustling and fast-moving metro area has to offer. But once you’re here, where do you go to have fun?
You have a lot of options, that’s for sure. If you want to have a completely planned day on the town, you have a wide variety of shops, sights and eateries to pick through – too many to visit them all in only 24 hours, of course. We’re here to break down your day and show you a few examples of Atlanta hot spots to visit to help you plan your outing.
Breakfast
If you’re looking to start your day off right, Atlanta is a city rich in food and breakfast is no exception. Spots like Radial Café and Ria’s Bluebird are the perfect place to go if you want to start your morning with thick and delicious pancakes. If you’re more into sweet treats for the morning, Sublime Doughnuts is your ideal breakfast destination. If you REALLY want to spoil yourself, try Sun in my Belly – the French toast is incredible!
Shopping
After you intake all those calories, walk them off with a shopping trip. If you’re looking to spend a lot, a little, or even window shop, Atlanta has a large selection of shops to choose from, no matter what you’re looking for. Check out the Buford Highway Flea Market or the Village Flea Market if you want a more eclectic shopping experience. If you’re looking for high end clothing, try Burberry, Patagonia, or Wish – all of which offer something different in terms of style.
Look for Lenox Square or Phipps Plaza if you want a more well-rounded shopping experience. There you can get a variety of items all in one place!
Lunch
When stopping for lunch, one of our favorite places is Ten – your ideal location if you want modern soul food. Victory Sandwich is another great place to get a light lunch if you’re still full from breakfast. Those looking for a more unique and one-of-a-kind experience should visit Star Provisions, a lunch spot featuring a lot of harder to find, gourmet selection. Other lunch spots include Bell Street Burritos, Farm Burger, and Cafe Jonah and the Magical Attic.
Day Trips
You’ve got some time to kill until dinner. What do you do? Luckily the only problem you’ll have picking out something to do for the day in Atlanta is narrowing down your options. If you want a more educational experience, visit the Fernbank Museum of Natural History, the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historical Site, or the High Museum of Art. The Centennial Olympic Park is a popular site for both tourists and locals alike, and popping into the Georgia Aquarium can be great if you’re with kids. Also stop into Zoo Atlanta, the World of Coca-Cola, Fox Theatre, or see what sports teams are playing in the area – there are a lot that stop in Atlanta!
Dinner
Atlanta is home to many eateries, with a variety of themes and types of food to offer. If you want to end your night on an entertaining note, Agatha’s A Taste of Mystery can give you a murder mystery while you dine. Fandangles is located in the Sheraton Atlanta hotel and is a perfect example of Atlanta food – Southern food with a modern flair. Maggiano’s Little Italy is a perfect stop for Italian food, and Umi Sushi Buckhead is great for fans of Asian cuisine.
If you just want a nice steak after a day on the town, just relax at Bone’s Restaurant and enjoy a nice T-bone.
Clubs
If you want to experience some more adult fun at night, Atlanta’s club and lounge scene is incredible. Grab a drink and hit the floor at hot spots like Opera Atlanta Nightclub, Whiskey Mistress, or Cosmolava. Koo Koo Room is a great club if you want to listen to music while you enjoy a cocktail, while Taverna Plaka is your go-to location if you want to dance the night away.
The great thing is that you’ll never run out of possibilities living in Atlanta. We’ve given you great options to start with, but living in Atlanta means discovering the city and finding new things to do, every single day.
